Literature analysis

The systematic reviews planned within the framework of the Junior Research Group (PeNut) primarily address "gene-lifestyle interactions". First, literature concerning the association between genetic factors (so-called single nucleotide polymorphisms) and energy metabolism will be systematically analyzed. Subsequently, systematic literature analyses on the interaction of genetic factors and lifestyle parameters, such as nutrition and exercise, on body weight are planned. The goal of the systematic literature analyses is to provide a detailed overview of the current state of knowledge, in order to develop scientific questions and hypotheses for the LION study.

The first systematic review on „genetic variants and energy expenditure“ was conducted in 2018 and the results are expected to be published by the end of 2019/beginning of 2020. The literature search for a further systematic review on the topic of "gene-diet-interactions on weight loss" has been completed. First results are expected to be available at the beginning of 2020.
