Fibre-enriched foods for & metabotypes in adults (FA 3)
This focus area is divided into 3 modules and is engaged in the development of healthier convenience foods targeting the functional characterization of specific types of dietary fibres with regard to glucose metabolism. This will be investigated both in-vitro and in human intervention studies. A consecutive workflow will be developed that allows for rapid screening and evaluation of specific functional properties of fibres from in vitro testing up to human studies in a real world setting. The application of specific fibre-enriched food products in humans will be combined with “metabotypes” to achieve better targeted prevention of metabolic diseases in the middle-aged group.
